Friends of the Library

The library is fortunate to have a large, active group of supporters that provide valuable volunteer and fundraising support. The Friends are an independent auxiliary group, with its own board of officers and bylaws, working in conjunction with the library to help provide the best service possible.

They meet on the second Monday of each month at 10:15 am, at the library. If you’re interested in joining the Friends, or serving as a volunteer, please contact us. For the current year, the following officers are leading the Friends.

President Dorothy Barker
Vice-President Lynn Becker
Treasurer Barbara LeJeune
Secretary Carolyn Chormann

To make a donation to the Friends, print out and mail this form. Your donation will help fund the ongoing development of the library.

The Friends’ primary fundraising project is the annual vintage book sale. This year’s sale will take place at the Glen Arbor Township Hall on Wednesday, August 13 and Thursday, August 14. Thousands of used books and other materials will be available.

Selected collectible books can also be purchased online via ABE Books (Select the Bookstores link and search for “The Cottage Book Shop”). An assortment of used books is also available for purchase at the library itself, just inside the main entrance. Every second year, the Friends also host a fundraising tour of Glen Lake area homes. The next home tour will be held in summer of 2009.
